Representative Cases:
Hackman v. Dickerson Realtors, Inc., et al (Northern District of Illinois) – The Firm is currently lead Plaintiff’s counsel in this antitrust action involving most of the major realtors in the Rockford area. The Firm represents Gregory Hackman Realtors, who alleges commission rate fixing and group boycott against the Defendants.

Ulrich, LLC v. Laris (Cook County) – Won a defense verdict at trial on behalf of businessman when he was sued for breach of alleged oral contract. Trial court held plaintiff did not prove existence or terms of oral contract.

Stoddart v. Durham (Marshall County) – Represented home buyers in Marshall County, Illinois, when the home they purchased was infested with mold and severe related defects. Though the jury found against plaintiffs, the trial judge agreed with plaintiff’s argument that the contract should be rescinded due to a mutual mistake of material fact without which the contract would never have been executed. Just before the ruling, and in anticipation of that ruling, the parties entered into a settlement favorable to the plaintiffs.

Yeaple v. RVS Transport, Inc. (Will County) – Prevailed at trial in representation of Defendant trucking contract broker against claim by former subcontractor who purchased truck from Defendant on installment plan, and sued for refund when he did not like work. Counsel not only defeated Plaintiff’s claim, but also prevailed on counterclaim for remainder of purchase price.

State of Illinois v. Meyer (Kane County) – Successfully defended criminal defendant in State’s prosecution for alleged parole violations. Trial court held there was no requisite intent to deliberately not pay restitution, and that defendant’s community service was satisfactorily completed.

Jackson v. Stroger (DuPage County) – Prevailed at trial while representing a married couple sued by their adult daughter for Order of Protection due to alleged (past and present) verbal, physical and sexual abuse. At trial, counsel showed the abuse could not have happened as the Plaintiff alleged, and counsel showed Plaintiff’s ulterior financial motives for making these false claims.

Saade v. Garcia (Cook County) – Represented Defendant restaurant against Plaintiff who claimed injury from food product. Through diligent representation and investigation, counsel proved Plaintiff’s story false and received summary judgment.

McDonald v. Segneri (DuPage County) – Won $90,000.00 settlement for auto accident Plaintiff who was injured by Defendant who pulled out of parking lot onto main road on which Plaintiff was traveling, resulting in severe neck and back disc injuries, and a fractured sternum and ribs.

Reilly v. Milk Pail (Kane County) – Won $375,000.00 settlement for personal injury client with broken ankle who fell in hole in floor of serving station at restaurant where she worked as a manager. Though defendant denied requisite knowledge, counsel proved defendant both knew of, and ignored, hole in floor on previous occasions.
