FIRM ACHIEVES SUCCESSFUL RESOLUTION IN OMAHA LAWSUIT

Super Lawyers 2012

David G. Sigale has successfully litigated an important now-closed Second Amendment case in Omaha, Nebraska, which addressed the question of whether only citizens enjoy Second Amendment rights, or whether those legally residing in the United States do as well.

The Firm sued the City of Omaha in September, 2011, for violating the Second Amendment rights of legal aliens residing within the City by forbidding their handgun registration for home possession and defense. In November, 2011, the District Court entered an injunction against the City (Read the Injunction here), which was quickly followed by the City’s repeal of the unconstitutional law. The lawsuit was then dismissed by agreement in February, 2012, as the Plaintiffs had obtained the relief they had sought. The firm congratulates and thanks Second Amendment Foundation, Inc., Nebraska Firearms Owners Association, Bernie Glaser, Esq., and Armando Pliego Gonzalez for standing up for constitutional rights!
